With so much happening in the metaverse, I’m wondering if this time next year, I will still be in the same place, doing the same thing, being with the same people. Will we all still be here? Will we all disappear? I don’t think I’ve ever thought about the prospect of losing a virtual community, but if you think about it, there’s a lot that can be lost, even if it isn’t “real.”
The other day I realized that I did a lot of photo work for other people, but I’ve never really focused on self-portraits much. Yesterday, I decided to set up a shoot and came away with this shot. The shadows behind me still need some work since it’s not really creating too much depth between me and the couch. Otherwise, I think it turned out nicely.
If anyone would have told me that I’d experience all that I did in a span of a year, I probably would not believe them. But my skepticism has been set aside, and I’m happy to say that I made it through one year of SL with an armload full of virtual memories that I will hold close to my heart.
Last night, Kris, Kellee, and Jazmine threw me a surprise rezday party. It was such a cute event. Lance sang. Bo sang. And of course, Kellee sang.
Kellee was acting funny the entire day, texted me a happy rezday early in the morning, and asked to hang out at night, so I knew something was up. (We never plan to hang out. We just do.) We made plans to come in-world at the regular time and to play cards with Jazmine and Winston. I was a few minutes late for arrival and Kellee texts me again to ask if I was heading in. When I got there, he tps me over to Pink Flamingo where Lance was on stage and Jaz, Kris, Alle, Cor, Maggie, Taylor, Shaun, Winston and several other folks were hanging with party hats and balloons. It was just really cute.
After Kellee did his set we all shot over to ChilBowl and bowled while Bo sang softly on his guitar. Really sweet of him to do that since it was probably around 4-5am where he was at. Tyra, Rachel, Tomkin, MS and Kim stopped by also.
As much as I know in reality, we were all just sitting in front of our computers, it takes a huge effort to organize a virtual event. And to know that they chose to spend time to hang with me to celebrate this virtual milestone, gives me warm fuzzies. I love my SL friends.I really do.

Wow, forgive me for not keeping up. Such is the case when RL happens, huh? Not much to report. SL has been pretty drama-free, just the way I like it! Lots of hanging out and socializing and building and music!
You probably get more updates if you followed me on Twitter. I’m a fan of picture taking.
SLife has been rather interesting these days. It moves at a pace fairly rapid pace, and things change in an instant. Since last time, I sold off some of my holdings in Soy, so I can have a little more flexibility. It may seem weird to those not in virtual space, but just the idea of being able to rent anywhere in SL is more appealing than being stationed in one place. ZZ is gracious enough to let me keep my house currently as is, and has let me stay until he figures out what to do with the land. I’ll still keep Studio C where it is; on the original two parcels that I have. I love my studio, and that stays in Soy since it’s a short walk into Chilbo.
I rented a beach house back on Pitcairn Island, two parcels away from Kellee, thanks to his insistence. Funny that I used to live there before I found Chilbo. We were actually neighbors for about a month and didn’t even know it.
Speaking of which, we debuted his SL music video this past Tuesday and it was a hit. Everyone loved it, and thankfully the event went without a technical glitch. The turn out was much better than I anticipated, and people actually asked questions for the Q&A, and stuck around until the end. I worked pretty hard on prepping everything, so I was totally relieved when everything just flowed. Now I can breathe a sigh of relief until the next big project, (whenever and whatever that may be)!
Check out the SL video here or here or here, and let me know what you think!
… on a beach in St. John, with a flower in my hair. And the palm trees will be swaying in unison as if to dance with us, happy that we’ll get our wish. It will be sunrise, and the waters crystal blue, waving to come closer to the sand, glistening and reflecting the daybreak’s happy rays as if to welcome us into a new life. The married life. This is the vision of “our” ceremony. And it will happen. Soon.
Been managing my buddy, Kellee for the past several weeks. A temporary arrangement until his real manager returns. He’s a very talented musician that performs in SL. Check out his music here.
With KK’s help, we arranged a meet and greet for him at Mad Wax. Check out the snazzy tees and lunch box promos I made for the event.
Of course, MS gets the party started with a kegger. I think the listening party went very well. IndieSpectrum and Lemon Lady Records showed up.

Celebrated post-meet and greet by hanging out, exploring the grid and letting loose. More fun than a barrel of… dorks…

I’ve been looking for glasses like this IRL.
After months of planning, MS, Bo and I successfully pulled off a surprise rezzday party for Kristine. It was so much fun!

Still exploring and taking photos. I love these.

And spending more quality time with good friends. Can’t complain about that!
